Seamount Primary School is a public school that serves the needs of the greater Milnerton area. The language of learning and teaching (LoLT) at Seamount is English, with our first additional language being Afrikaans. The Foundation Phase classes also learn IsiXhosa as a second additional language.
Our school caters for the Foundation Phase (Gr 1 – 3), Intermediate Phase (Gr 4 – 6) and Senior Phase (Gr 7), where we help to build a strong foundation in our learners’ academic journey. Our entire staff – academic, administrative, aftercare and maintenance – strives to create an atmosphere where learners are safe, happy and enjoy their learning experience. We see each learner as being special in their own right, and therefore, in this environment, every child has the opportunity to grow in self – confidence and self – worth. We recognise the diversity in our learners and staff, and strive to promote an ethos of respect and acceptance for one another’s diversities.
Although our beginnings were that of a relatively small school, we are hard at work adding third and fourth streams to our current grades.
Seamount offers an aftercare facility, which is run on the school premises and we also have a holiday care programme available to the learners of our school.

Seamount Primary is invested in developing learners’ leadership skills, as well as being able to work as part of a well-functioning team, and therefore have many opportunities for our learners to explore their leadership potential. Our Head Boy and Head Girl, along with their team of prefects, are charged with important responsibilities, and we celebrate their appointment and praise their dedication every year.
We encourage our learners to commit to other character building roles, such as joining the school’s Scholar Patrol team, or becoming an Art, Computer, Sport, Technology or Library monitor. This creates a good platform in which to learn a new skill or develop an existing one, while playing an integral part in the school community.
